.:: Global Forum Meeting 21-22 October, 2008

The annual Global Forum event represents a unique meeting place for practitioners and policymakers to get together for intensive brainstorming on how to shape improved strategies and conditions for rapidly evolving information society.

The Global Trust Center is actively participating in the 17th edition of the Global Forum which takes place on the 21st and 22nd of October at the Zappeion Palace in Athens, Greece. The theme to be addressed is "Shaping the future - COLLABORATIVE CONVERGENCE - Users Empowerment in the Global Digital Economy".

Of special interest will be the sessions devoted to "Interoperability, Identity Management and Trust", "Information Governance, Security and Privacy" and that on "Health Care Challenges - E-health and New Service Models", areas in which the Global Trust Center is fast becoming an authority on an international scale.

.:: Second Global Trust Center International Council Meeting 19-20 November, 2008

Preparations are under way for the second annual meeting of the Global Trust Center's International Council, to take place in Malmö in November. Members of the Council represent some 30 countries poised to assess ongoing policy work to strengthen the standing of the individual human being in digital interactions. Whereas the Global Trust Center's Global Policy is further refined at the overarching level, ongoing collaboration with governments and the private sector is in the process of preparing the practical implementation.

.:: Biometric industry supports the effort by Global Trust Center to secure individual privacy in the digital world

The biometric industry has participated in the development of a framework that supports the recently adopted GTC Global Policy on Enabling Trust in the Digital World and recommends the use of biometrics as a privacy enhancing tool and to protect the security of people in the digital world.

.:: GTC Chairman receives Distinguished Scholar Award

Thomas Andersson, chairman of the International Council of the Global Trust Center (GTC), based in Malmö, and president of Jönköping University has been rewarded with the prestigious “Distinguished Scholar Award” at the Innovations’07 event, in Dubai, November 18-20 2007 at which he was a keynote speaker.
